Fernando Alonso Díaz (Oviedo, Asturias, July 29, 1981) is a Spanish racing driver.
He has won the Formula 1 World Drivers' Championship twice in 2005 and 2006, the FIA World Endurance Championship once in 2019, the 2018 and 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 2019 24 Hours of Daytona.
He was also runner-up in Formula 1 in 2010, 2012 and 2013, and finished third in 2007. In Formula 1, he has competed for the Minardi, Renault (where he was two-time world champion), McLaren and Scuderia Ferrari teams, this being his team from 2010 to 2014.
He left Ferrari and in 2015 he returned to McLaren. After two years out of F1, in the 2021 season he returns with the Alpine F1 Team, part of the Renault family, with which he won his 2 championships.
